Job summary

Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Senior Manager of Operations in El Dorado Hills, CA to lead day-to-day manufacturing and drive DBS-led continuous improvement. You will translate objectives into actionable plans, coach front-line leaders, and partner with EHS, Facilities, Supply Chain, QA, and HR to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a BS in science/engineering, 5+ years GC instrumentation experience, and strong Lean/cost management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in business, engineering or related science area; plus 2 years of people management or 8+ years with 2+ years of people management.
• 5+ years’ experience in Gas Chromatography Instrumentation and Separations; knowledge of GC column production.
• Familiarity with ISO9001:2008 and LEAN principles.
• Experience in production planning, capacity and cost management, quality systems, and cross-functional processes.
• Understanding of Supply Chain, Logistics and budgeting influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations through front-line leaders to meet production plans and delivery commitments.
• Translate objectives into targets, visual management, standard work, and accountability for managers and staff.
• Optimize capacity, labor, equipment, and materials in partnership with Logistics and Supply Chain.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory to address nonconformances and CAPAs.
• Manage departmental spending, headcount, overtime, and other operating costs within budgets.
• Review performance and provide input to budgets, forecasts, and capital plans.
