Job summary

The Common Market SE seeks a General Manager to run the Chicago Great Lakes distribution center, overseeing inbound receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, and on-time delivery. This hands-on leader partners with executives to drive service, safety, staffing, cost, and continuous improvement.

Experience in foodservice, fresh produce, refrigerated distribution, or perishable operations is highly valued. Strong leadership, financial judgment, and multi-priority management are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field or experience.
• 7-12+ years in operations/logistics with frontline supervision.
• Food-handling experience or perishable distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food distribution and warehouse operations to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Direct transportation, fleet management, and on-time delivery performance.
• Lead food safety programs, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, budgets, and analyze costs impacting site performance.
