Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking an Operations Manager in Texas to oversee all transportation and facility operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient processing of regulated medical waste. You will lead teams, manage routing and warehouse activities, and drive continuous improvement across regions.

You will collaborate with Dispatch, Sales, and internal teams, support new customer setups, and maintain fleet readiness while focusing on productivity and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of management experience.
• Experience in transportation management in a fast‑paced JIT environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation and processing operations.
• Lead and develop staff; train and coach team.
• Coordinate with Dispatch and Warehouse Leads to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and routes are properly staged.
• Perform quality control checks on equipment and processes.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in productivity and safety.
• Support new customer setups and coordinate pickups.
• Manage permits, renewals, and regulatory compliance (DOT, DEQ, EPA, TJC).
• Oversee budget and P&L performance; manage fleet systems.
• Lead safety meetings and foster a strong safety culture.
• Other duties as required.
