Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee transportation and facility operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient processing of regulated medical waste. Lead and develop teams, manage routing, and coordinate with Dispatch, Sales, and internal groups to drive continuous improvement.

You will supervise fleet readiness, maintain equipment, monitor KPIs, and support new customer setups while upholding a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage schedules, priorities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation and processing operations to ensure safe, compliant performance.
• Lead and develop team members; coach staff and run safety meetings.
• Manage routing and warehouse activities; ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance and equipment readiness; document issues.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in productivity and safety.
• Support new customer setups and resolve missed stops or issues.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with DOT, DEQ, EPA, and others.
• Oversee budgets, P&L, and fleet systems including HOS and training.
• Collaborate with Dispatch, Sales, and internal teams to resolve issues.
