Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services seeks an Operations Manager in Dallas to oversee transportation and processing operations, ensuring safe, compliant handling of regulated medical waste. This role leads teams, coordinates with Dispatch and Warehouse Leads, and drives continuous improvement to productivity and safety.

You will manage permits, budgets, and KPI reporting while fostering a strong safety culture and exceptional customer service. Training and benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of management experience.
• Experience in transportation management in a fast-paced JIT environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation and processing operations with Dispatch and Warehouse Leads.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and routes are ready for daily deliveries and urgent needs.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance and document unrepairable equipment for inventory.
• Perform quality checks on sharps washing machines and containers.
• Monitor KPIs and report performance.
• Support customer service with new customer setups and pickups coordination.
• Manage state permits, renewals, and regulatory compliance (DOT, DEQ, EPA, TJC).
• Hire, train, and coach staff and lead safety meetings.
• Oversee budget and P&L, and manage fleet systems including HOS and coaching.
• Other duties as required.
