Last Energy in Austin, TX is seeking a Business Operations Lead to run the day-to-day operational backbone—vendors, facilities, insurance, compliance calendars, and office infrastructure—and to act as a right-hand to the leadership across a broad operational portfolio.

You will work across operations, IT, legal, finance, and security, balancing process-building with hands-on field work to keep the company running smoothly and support growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in business operations or facilities operations.
• Proven vendor, service-provider, and facilities or real estate project management.
• Familiar with insurance, compliance calendars, and corporate renewals.
• Comfort overseeing IT policy, procurement, and physical security with specialist teams.
• Strong project management with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Data-oriented, with experience building dashboards and tracking KPIs.
• Hands-on, resourceful, willing to do field work.
• Based in Austin, TX (or willing to relocate).

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly operations standup across ops, IT, compliance, and accounting.
• Oversee vendor management for corporate services, leases, travel, and related providers.
• Engage external providers for administrative projects, ensuring continuity with internal teams.
• Own insurance program and renewals with the legal team.
• Maintain compliance and renewal calendars for permits, licenses, facilities.
• Oversee IT policy, procurement, training, and security compliance.
• Coordinate with Head of Security on building security and access control.
• Lead space growth, real estate portfolio, and lease negotiations with legal.
• Improve approval matrices with legal and finance.
• Roll out new policies with legal/compliance; assist People Ops with onboarding.
• Oversee asset and equipment inventory with IT/manufacturing.
• Build dashboards to track operations KPIs, budgets, and inventories.
• Handle special projects and field work as needed.
• Manage event logistics for internal and external events.
• Support C-Suite as right-hand; take on other duties.
