Job summary

FAR.AI is looking for a Senior Business Operations Associate based in Berkeley, CA, to support the Business Operations Manager, COO, and org leaders. You will own core processes, drive improvements, support FAR.Labs and IT, and tackle special projects with broad impact.

You'll partner with the BizOps team, reporting to the Business Operations Manager. Expect varied, hands-on work with room to redesign processes as the function grows, in a fast-paced nonprofit AI safety environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in operations or program/project management with proven operational execution.
• Strong problem-solving with evidence of delivering results across multiple tasks.
• Comfort working across finance, HR, compliance, IT, and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document clearly.
• Reliable attention to deadlines and accuracy in compliance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Own and triage operational tickets; maintain the requests pipeline.
• Design, maintain, and optimize cross-team coordination systems and knowledge management.
• Manage finance & compliance calendars; support grants and financial ops.
• Provide initial IT support and coordinate with vendors for tools and equipment.
• Support onboarding/offboarding, HR compliance, and company handbook maintenance.
• Lead ad hoc operations projects end-to-end.
