Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Engineer for Global Engineering Services North America in Boston. You will own and drive cross-functional projects in First and Middle Mile operations, leveraging automation and material handling systems.

This role requires extensive collaboration with internal teams and external vendors, and involves frequent travel up to 75%. You will lead installation, testing, and qualification activities, ensuring safety, throughput, and reliability while delivering

Qualifications

6+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field.
Experience and strong technical background in automated material handling equipment.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.

Responsibilities

Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects, acting as owner to deliver objectives across organizations or geographies.
Participate in firm engineering reviews and influence system architecture and facility processes.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to set priorities, milestones, and schedules.
Lead execution efforts delivering systems and automated equipment designs per standards; perform installation, qualifications, and bottleneck removal.
Lead effective meetings, document decisions, and ensure alignment with stakeholders and vendors.
Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership with clear summaries.
Articulate system designs and technical capabilities to internal customers and partner teams.
Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
