Job summary

Careermine seeks an energized accounting professional in West Virginia to support Mine Management and Operations Accounting with cost estimates and period closings. You will partner with FP&A and Supply Chain to ensure accurate cost data, timely period closings, and robust variance analysis, while driving automation and process improvements in our ERP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least two years of accounting experience with emphasis on cost management in a manufacturing environment (mining preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred
• Ability to build ownership and accountability; pursue solutions when gaps exist

Responsibilities

• Accept, embrace and promote core values of Safety and Compliance, Continuous Improvement and Financial Performance.
• Develop and deliver subject matter expertise and content ownership of their scope, including daily, weekly, monthly Cost Estimates; internal financial statement analysis, reconciliation and variance explanations.
• Deliver internal control compliance.
• Own and manage relevant external and internal audit inquiries.
• Understand ERP functionality; identify and drive system and process improvements with a focus on automation, simplification and sustainability.
• Drive cross-functional stakeholder relationships; partner with FP&A to formulate location budget and with Supply Chain Management for policy compliance.
• Investigate and resolve business unit inquiries and variance analysis
