Qualifications

• 8+ years in operational risk, compliance, or internal audit in a bank or fintech.
• Hands-on experience with issues management or operational event programs.
• Familiarity with GRC platforms like LogicGate or Archer.
• Strong data analysis skills for trend identification.
• Knowledge of interagency and OCC operational risk management expectations.
• Ability to constructively challenge and maintain strong relationships.
• Proven project management skills, balancing program development with daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Set standards for risk and control assessments and review first-line RCMs.
• Oversee the operational event program, challenging root causes and trends.
• Manage the centralized issues management program from intake to closure.
• Define enterprise Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and aggregate metrics for reporting.
• Collaborate with first-line teams and other departments to ensure early risk identification.
• Provide second-line review on high-risk new activities.
• Develop and maintain ORM standards, procedures, and templates.
• Support regulatory examinations and audits.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Operational Risk Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will help strengthen enterprise risk oversight across operational events, issues management, and control assessments. You will partner closely with first-line teams and other stakeholders to identify emerging risks early, challenge root causes, and help drive consistent governance standards. The position also supports regulatory readiness by maintaining practical ORM frameworks, reporting, and review processes that enable sound decision-making.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $179,900 – $249,900 annually
