Job summary

Abbott Laboratories, located in Arecibo, PR, is seeking a Senior Operational Excellence Engineer to lead OPEX at the plant level. This onsite role drives lean six sigma initiatives, cost reduction, and continuous improvement across functions within Cardiac Rhythm Management.

You will manage projects, coach teams, update standard times, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D to optimize operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial and Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of project management and team leadership experience.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Project Management certification a plus.
• Fully bilingual (English & Spanish).
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement continuous improvement programs to reduce cost and improve quality, service and inventory.
• Lead and execute the Operational Excellence strategy for the site with clear business objectives.
• Provide Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement education and trainings for the site.
• Lead projects, define and justify projects, launch project teams, and track progress to results.
• Manage capacity planning and standard times updates for operations.
