Job summary

KARL STORZ North America is seeking an OR1 Senior Operational Buyer-Planner to independently manage suppliers, materials, and purchasing activities supporting OR1 production, deployment, service, and installation across North America.

You will combine purchasing, material planning, supplier performance management, and cost optimization while collaborating with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Field Service to ensure supply continuity and optimal landed cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in operational purchasing/buyer-planner.
• Strong SAP or ERP/MRP experience with purchase orders and supplier confirmations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end PO cycle for assigned suppliers in SAP.
• Lead material planning, forecasting, inventory parameters, and days of inventory on hand.
• Analyze shortages, backorders, and supplier performance; mitigate risks.
• Lead expediting and de-expediting based on demand and supplier capacity.
• Support EOL/EOS, engineering changes, and last-time-buy activities.
• Collaborate with Field Service to ensure timely procurement of service parts.
• Mentor Buyers and Associate Buyers as a resource.
