Role: Lead Openstack Architect

Location: Dallas, TX or Middletown, NJ

Manager notes: I’m looking for someone that has at least 2-3 years of Openstack under their belt.

Role Description: Lead architect on a complex, large-scale Openstack cloud implementation responsible for defining, planning, and documenting the architecture and solutions for new cloud products.

Requirements (*Must Have)

• Experience supporting a large scale, elastic, highly available cloud environment.
• Deep understanding of the OpenStack project ecosystem and hands‑on Openstack development / coding experience.
• Experience with Heat orchestration engine and delivering IaaS and PaaS offerings within Openstack.
• Good experience with Neutron and solid networking fundamentals (e.g. SDN).
• Knowledge of multiple hypervisor technologies (e.g. KVM, VMware ESXi).
• Ability to bring others together across various organizations and come to agreements on proposed solutions.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work independently with minimal supervision in an agile environment.
• Experience designing and using web services APIs (RESTful, SOAP).
• Proficiency with development and scripting and development (Java, C++, bash, perl, python, git).
• Experience with monitoring and usage collection tools such as Nagios and Ceilometer.
• Experience with some Continuous Integration system (eg. Jenkins).
• Configuration management tools (e.g. chef, puppet).
