Job summary

Razor is seeking a Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Engineer SME to support a large DoD program across AWS GovCloud, Azure Gov, and on-premises/hybrid environments. You will own production OpenShift clusters, mentor engineers, and advise leadership on architecture and risk. Eligible for Top Secret/SCI access with CI Polygraph.

Location: Fairfax, VA or Springfield, VA with a hybrid work model, onsite 3–4 days/week. You will design, deploy, and sustain OpenShift platforms across cloud and on-premises,

Qualifications

• 7 years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on production Red Hat OpenShift engineering/administration experience.
• Expertise designing, deploying, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting production Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• Strong Kubernetes architecture, administration, workload management, and troubleshooting.
• Strong Linux systems administration with RHEL and RHCOS.
• Experience with IAM, security hardening, and DoD/regulatory environments.
• Cloud experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes in AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production platforms and perform root-cause analysis.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing platform standards.
• DoD 8570-01M IAM Level I or higher certification.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, administer, upgrade, optimize, and sustain OpenShift environments across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid infra.
• Own OpenShift cluster lifecycle: install, config, upgrades, patching, backup/restore, certs, operators, security, networking, storage, performance.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex OpenShift issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement and troubleshoot OpenShift/Kubernetes networking, including DNS, routes, load balancing, and security.
• Integrate persistent storage via Storage Classes and persistent volumes.
• Automate infrastructure and app config using IaC, Helm, and GitOps.
• Integrate OpenShift with CI/CD pipelines, registries, and artifact repositories.
• Maintain security compliance, remediation, and POA&M activities.
• Develop architecture, config, operating, troubleshooting, and knowledge-transfer docs.
• Mentor engineers, establish platform standards, and onboard customer/partner teams.
