Job summary

Amazon OpenSearch Service team is building the OpenSearch Migration Assistant to simplify migrating complex search and analytics workloads to OpenSearch at massive scale. You’ll shape the system from idea to production, tackling AI agents, distribution, and data movement within AWS.

You’ll work with Rust, Java, Python, and Go across regions, ensuring secure, highly available services that power diverse workloads for customers worldwide. This greenfield role offers significant ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Define and build OpenSearch Migration Assistant systems from the ground up.
• Prototype and productionize reliable services used across AWS.
• Address AI agents, distributed systems, workload discovery, and data movement at scale.
