Job summary

P&C Recruiting | H.R. is seeking a Senior Open Pit Mining Engineer in the United States South Carolina to oversee and support technical services planning groups, focusing on pit design and drill & blast patterns in open-pit environments.

You will manage daily to three-month mine plans, maintain design databases, collaborate with mine operations, improve mining software utilization, ensure ore recovery, and mentor engineers while advancing safety and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years minimum, 8+ years preferred mining experience with at least 5 years of exposure to the gold mining industry in an open pit environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support technical services planning groups in short and long-range time frames for pit planning and drill & blast design.
• Manage production of precise daily, weekly, and rolling three-month mine plans.
• Maintain the design database and standardize design areas and signoff processes.
• Collaborate with mine operations to adjust plans to meet monthly requirements.
• Improve use of mining software and explore new solutions for production planning.
• Monitor plans to ensure critical path targets are achieved and ore recovery is maximized.
