Russell Tobin’s client seeks a Senior Ontologist to advance institutional research through ontology and taxonomy development, semantic technologies, and NLP. The role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 remote) with a pay rate of $160–$165/hour on a temp-to-perm basis.

A minimum of 5 years in ontologies within finance is expected, with OWL, SPARQL, and SKOS skills. You will maintain the Brokerage Research Ontology and taxonomy, collaborate with data science and data providers, validate ML outputs, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years applying ontologies and taxonomies in financial/economic research.
• Proficient with OWL and SPARQL; familiar with SKOS and at least one other ontology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance msRo and Trending Topics Taxonomy.
• Define concepts and entities; coordinate with business teams and reference data providers.
• Lead NLP, ontology, and taxonomy projects with stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into technical specs bridging business and tech teams.
• Validate ML outputs with SME tools and testing.
