Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Senior Ontologist to design and maintain ontologies and semantic models for US lending products in Charlotte, NC. You will define concepts, map to data assets, and collaborate with AI/ML teams to enable AI-ready data assets and semantic search.

Experience with Snowflake, AWS services (Neptune/SageMaker/IAM) and RDF/OWL/SPARQL is essential. Strong governance and data management skills are required in this role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data/modelling/ontology engineering or enterprise data architecture
• 5+ years in ontology modelling, semantic tech, knowledge graphs or taxonomy management
• 5+ years in Banking/Financial Services or lending data
• 3+ years with US lending products (origination, underwriting, servicing, credit risk, collections)
• 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience
• 2+ years AWS experience (Neptune, SageMaker, IAM)
• Strong RDF/OWL/SPARQL understanding
• Experience mapping concepts to physical data models and data catalogs
• Experience supporting AI/ML, data governance and data management initiatives
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Able to translate lending concepts into reusable semantic models

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ontologies and semantic models for US lending products
• Define concepts, entities, relationships, taxonomies, and metadata standards across lending domains
• Model end-to-end lending lifecycle: origination, underwriting, servicing, credit risk, collections
• Collaborate with stakeholders and AI/ML teams to align semantic models with data products
• Map ontology concepts to Snowflake assets and data catalogs
• Develop knowledge graphs and semantic layers for data discovery and AI use cases
• Leverage AWS services (Neptune, SageMaker, IAM) for graph modeling and secure data access
• Apply RDF/OWL/SPARQL standards to ontology models
• Establish governance, naming conventions and metadata standards
• Support data governance, data quality and data management initiatives
• Partner with AI/ML teams to enable AI-ready data assets and semantic search
• Evolve ontology models with changing business requirements and regulatory needs
