Job summary

Penguin Solutions is seeking a Senior Onsite Data Center Professional to own and resolve complex AI/HPC infrastructure challenges at the Columbus, Georgia data center. You will exercise independent judgment, lead diagnostics, and guide cross-functional teams to optimize performance and reliability.

You will serve as the primary technical authority, drive process improvements, mentor staff, and coordinate with vendors to ensure SLA compliance and safe, scalable operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data center/IT infra environment.
• Proven ability to analyze complex issues and make strategic decisions.
• Ownership of technical solutions and process improvements.
• Excellent English communication to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced hardware diagnostics and issue resolution for AI/HPC environments.
• Serve as the technical authority and primary escalation point for complex hardware and network challenges.
• Drive operational efficiencies and document SOPs for ongoing improvements.
• Mentor junior staff and provide training on ticket resolution and safety protocols.
• Lead RCA investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent outages.
• Collaborate with infra engineering teams to maintain cluster health and uptime.
• Interact with third-party vendors for advanced RMAs and SLA management.
• Remediate complex fabric/topology issues and ensure alignment with workload requirements.
• Provide decisive incident response including after-hours support and on-call rotation.
