Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for an on-site contract role in Bellevue, WA. The specialist will own automated production equipment, lead line installation and commissioning, and drive performance improvements across PLCs, robotics, vision, and safety systems.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in equipment/automation, hands-on ownership, and experience with SAT/bring-up and working with integrators or OEMs. This role offers competitive hourly pay and full onsite benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
8+ years in equipment, automation, or controls engineering with hands-on ownership.
Experience commissioning automated lines with integrators or OEMs.
Proficient PLC programming with Allen-Bradley and Siemens; read/modify line logic.
FANUC robot programming and troubleshooting across servo/motion, machine vision, pneumatics.
Knowledge of machine safety systems, safety PLCs, robot safety, guarding, LOTO.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Lead installation and commissioning of automated lines with the integrator.
Maintain uptime and reliability via preventive maintenance and spare parts management.
Debug and improve control systems including PLCs, robotics, motion, vision, safety.
Implement upgrades to enhance performance and OEE.
Maintain machine documentation and drawings.
Serve as technical contact for integrator issues and changes.
