Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks an experienced Clinical Trial Nurse to evaluate, initiate, and maintain all activities related to the conduct of clinical trials. You will communicate with sponsors and staff to ensure understanding of trial requirements and coordinate patient care.

The role requires an RN license, an Associate degree in nursing with 5 years of clinical specialty experience including 3 years in clinical research, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• RN license required in state of practice.
• Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's preferred.
• 5 years in area with 3 years in clinical research or 4 years with relevant nursing certification (ACRP/SOCRA).

Responsibilities

• Participates in clinical trial selection with research leadership and evaluates strategies for recruiting study participants.
• Uses the nursing process to ensure protocol compliance including patient recruitment, informed consent, and education.
• Coordinates and oversees patient activity related to research, serving as liaison for patients and investigators and monitoring safety.
• Mentors junior staff and assists with onboarding and inter-department communication.
• Performs data entry into sponsor systems and supports data coordinators.
• Actively participates in quality improvement efforts and ensures data integrity.
• Adapts behavior to patient populations and maintains privacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
