Job summary

MaverickX is seeking a Senior Stimulation Chemist to own the chemistry behind PetroX Boost, a biochemical treatment for oilfield applications. You will define the laboratory program and translate chemistry into constraints for blending and pumping, ensuring downhole compatibility and performance.

Responsibilities include evaluating reaction kinetics, precipitation behavior, and compatibility with co-injected fluids; you will shape design constraints and contribute to new platform applications in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on oilfield chemistry experience with ownership of formulations and performance.
• Depth in oilfield stimulation chemistry, acidizing chemistry, chelant/sequestrant chemistry, mineral dissolution, or aqueous inorganic chemistry.
• Experience characterizing reaction kinetics and precipitation behavior in complex fluid systems.
• Experience designing and interpreting laboratory testing (dissolution, compatibility, precipitation, corrosion).
• Bias toward action and strong ownership; comfortable without a corporate playbook.
• Strong desire to contribute to American dynamism and the global resource supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Characterize how the fluid reacts with target mineral phases; dissolution behavior, reaction kinetics, and the chemistry of penetration and spending.
• Own the chemistry of spent-fluid behavior, including precipitation risk and formation-damage potential.
• Validate compatibility with co-injected fluids, production chemical programs, brines, and equipment; define conditions for viability of PetroX Boost.
• Provide technical constraints for treatment designs, such as spending rate vs. target depth and compatibility limits.
• Support evaluation of new oilfield applications for our platform as they emerge.
