Job summary

W. R. Berkley Corporation, a leading insurer with Berkley Oil & Gas, seeks a Risk Services Specialist in Midland, TX (or Odessa) to promote high standards and provide technical risk management advice to underwriting.

The role conducts onsite and phone surveys of oil and gas operations to evaluate risk control quality and loss exposures. You will write detailed risk evaluation reports, build strong relationships with brokers, customers, and internal teams, and stay current with industry trends,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of upstream oil and gas experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 25% overnight and frequent day trips.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical risk control advice to underwriting and risk management teams.
• Write detailed risk evaluation reports with recommendations for improvement.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as SME on oil and gas operations; research issues and participate in industry groups.
• Work with customers to identify and mitigate insured hazards to reduce losses.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety and risk management.
• Analyze loss trends to identify opportunities for risk control products and services.
• Document work clearly to meet quality and timeliness expectations.
