Job summary

Canterbury Press LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced offset press operator to set up, run, and maintain high-quality print runs. You will manage ink and water balance, color consistency, and plate changes while collaborating with a press helper. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and willingness to support bindery and warehousing tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on offset press operating experience.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 8+ hours per day and to intermittently squat, bend, stoop, push, and pull.

Responsibilities

• Set up, make ready, and operate offset press equipment to produce high-quality printed work.
• Manage ink and water balance, registration, and color throughout the run to meet customer specifications and match approved proofs.
• Prepare, mount, and maintain plates, blankets, and rollers; perform wash-ups and changeovers efficiently between jobs.
• Collaborate with the press helper on press operation, safety, and quality standards.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on press equipment; identify and identify issues.
• Identify work order errors and communicate problems to the Production Manager.
• Monitor and control waste, spoilage, and consumable usage.
• Rapidly change focus when needed to accommodate project changes.
• Successfully complete assigned tasks and projects.
• Keep the work area neat, clean, and well-organized.
• Work overtime as necessary.
• Comply with all safety and health policies, procedures, and practices; actively support safety improvement initiatives; use materials and equipment appropriately and safely; carry out all tasks in a manner so as not to create a hazard to themselves or others.
• Willingness to take on duties and tasks as necessary outside of the usual offset press responsibilities (e.g., support bindery, warehousing, shipping, etc.).
