Chesterfield Fire and EMS is seeking a dedicated and energetic part-time Senior Office Assistant to provide vital support and excellent internal and external customer services and administrative support, for the Training and Education division.
Under the general supervision of the Administrative Supervisor:
High school diploma or GED; one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of office principles and practices. Ability to provide customer service, set up and maintain records and files, understand and apply policies and procedures, communicate effectively orally and in writing, operate a personal computer and related software, and other standard office equipment; develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demit points with the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation as defined by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months OR a DMV record point balance less than negative one (-1). Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at the time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated with thirty days of the interview date.

Maintain a positive attitude, be an effective communicator, be flexible, self-motivated and team oriented. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and comfort level using databases. Experience in office reception. Experience in a public safety environment.
This position is a focal point for the division and at times will deal with an influx of questions and traffic. You will need to be comfortable multi-tasking and managing shifting priorities. It is vital to be able to maintain a positive and support minded perspective.
