Job summary

Tharseo IT is seeking a senior cloud engineer to support secure cloud modernization on a DoD Air Force program. You will design, build, and run cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on OCI, and work across AWS and Azure where needed.

This is a remote role requiring an active Secret clearance, Security+ CE, and OCI certification. You will architect solutions, then build them, automate them, and keep them running in a regulated DoD environment.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance (or higher) is required.
• DoD/regulated security standards experience is required.
• 10+ years of cloud engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience designing and running OCI-based production workloads.
• Current OCI certification (Architect Associate/Professional).
• Hands-on Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps practices experience.
• Strong networking, IAM, high availability, and DR knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure OCI-based cloud architectures within a multi-cloud environment (AWS/Azure).
• Build and manage Kubernetes platforms, installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated security scanning and patching.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across OCI and other clouds.
• Lead migrations from on-premises or other clouds to OCI with minimal downtime.
• Architect highly available, fault-tolerant, and DR solutions across cloud platforms.
• Design cloud networking and hybrid connectivity (VCN, subnets, DRGs, FastConnect, VPN).
• Apply DoD and public sector security best practices (IAM, encryption, zero trust, STIG).
• Support Oracle workloads (Autonomous DB, Exadata) and governance models.
