Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in a technical/scientific field such as Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with maritime systems.
  • Experience generating and performing system test events.
  • Experience with maritime platform design and integration.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance and eventually Top Secret clearance; must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate maritime payloads, autonomous vehicles, acoustic and communications systems, and vehicle autonomy.
  • Lead small- to mid-size technical tasks involving hardware and software.
  • Develop, integrate, and test early prototype R&D systems.
  • Generate system engineering products like performance specifications, concepts of operation, and system architecture/engineering plans.
  • Support studies adapting technology to urgent or emerging problems.
  • Collaborate with DoD partners to evaluate strategies, risks, and TE approaches.
  • Work with AUV operators to develop operation and maintenance processes, with ~10% travel.
