Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based therapy. You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, plan care, and drive recovery outcomes with compassionate, individualized treatment.

You will document progress, educate patients and families, and mentor therapy students, while upholding the hospital’s mission, values, and excellence in care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a California Board of Occupational Therapy license.
• BLS Provider Certification required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in occupational therapy.
• Experience using computerized patient care management systems.
• Strong reading, writing, and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through compassionate care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and documenting outcomes thoroughly.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure smooth transitions of care and excellent patient experiences.
• Leading by example and guiding therapy assistants or students in line with hospital mission and values.
