Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH is seeking a Scientist IV, Occupational Safety, to design and interpret safety assessments for products in the R&D pipeline. You will collaborate with SDMPK and project teams to ensure regulatory compliance and quality deliverables.

You will develop study protocols, manage data, and communicate findings through reports and presentations while traveling up to 10% and maintaining high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• PhD in occupational health, toxicology, biology, or related field with two years’ experience.
• Master's degree with six years industry experience (preference for CRO, pharmaceutical or AgChem).
• Knowledge of toxicology and human health risk assessments; familiarity with industrial hygiene and occupational toxicology.
• Excellent English verbal, written and presentation skills; advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with databases.
• Highly organized with attention to detail; ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
• Project management skills and ability to lead in absence of supervisor; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, designs, interprets accurately, troubleshoots and completes routine assessments independently and efficiently.
• Initiates and executes exploratory experiments.
• Prepares Occupational Exposure and Permissible Daily Exposure Limits and conducts risk assessments for health hazard evaluations.
• Generates technical reports, SOPs, and regulatory documents; communicates findings clearly to teams.
• Develops study protocols, collaborates with CROs, and ensures study execution and reporting.
• Ensures data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards across projects.
