Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Senior Platform Engineer - Observability to design, build, and run observability capabilities used by thousands of engineers. You will instrument applications and pipelines, automate onboarding, and deliver Observability-as-Code with dashboards and monitors as reusable modules.

You will integrate with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry while ensuring scalable, vendor-neutral architecture and cost-effective telemetry across AWS/EKS and Kubernetes environments.

Qualifications

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
• You have at least 8 years in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Cloud Engineering, with a strong software background designing, building, and operating production-grade systems at scale.
• You understand trade-offs between reliability, performance, and cost and apply sound engineering judgment.
• You have deep hands-on observability platform experience—instrumenting apps and building telemetry pipelines across MELT (metrics, events, logs, traces).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate observability capabilities used by thousands of engineers.
• Engineer telemetry collection and pipelines; automate onboarding for out-of-the-box observability.
• Deliver Observability-as-Code—monitors, dashboards, alerts as versioned modules; integrate with Datadog and open-source stacks.
• Develop with AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate platform tooling while maintaining security and quality.
