Job summary

Workday seeks a senior software engineer to design and evolve our Observability data platform. You will build monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing services across Kubernetes and other environments, while delivering high‑quality data processing modules.

You will work with a team managing massive data inflows, ensuring security, reliability, and scalable infrastructure in a federal contracting context. Strong coding skills and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Strong software engineering background with delivering at scale.
• Excellent coding skills (Java, Python; Go is a plus).
• Solid understanding of high‑performance data capture and delivery.
• Experience with time-series databases and log management.
• Kubernetes experience; ability to design scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance Observability services (Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, Tracing).
• Develop data capture and collection services across diverse environments (Kubernetes, OpenStack, Bare Metal).
• Create core software modules for real‑time and batch data processing.
• Construct metrics ingestion pipelines, alerts, and dashboard automation.
• Deploy infrastructure components in production and ensure data quality.
