Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, Michigan seeks an OBD Certification Senior Engineer to lead certification planning, compile applications, plan DDV testing, and coordinate with Emissions Certification teams to meet planned launch timelines.

The role demands 10+ years in automotive engineering and 5+ years in OBD certification/development, with strong knowledge of OBDII/HDOBD regulations, testing, and cross-functional collaboration. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft OBD certification plans with Product Development, Project Management, and Emissions Certification teams.
• Create and compile OBD certification documents for all OBD groups and submit to CARB for review and approval.
• Support agency Q&A related to OBD certification.
• Review DDV results prior to agency submission.
• Participate in industry meetings/events to discuss current and upcoming OBD regulation changes.
• Conduct regular alignment meetings with stakeholders to ensure on-time certification for production plans.
