Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, MI seeks an OBD Certification Senior Engineer to lead certification planning and document submission to CARB.

You will coordinate with Product Development, Emissions Certification, and Project Management teams to ensure timely certification for model launches. Required: 10+ years automotive engineering experience and 5+ years in OBD certification/development; Bachelor's in engineering; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of automotive engineering experience.
• 5+ years of OBD certification and/or development experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with OBD regulations (13 CCR §1968.2 / §1971.1) and 40 CFR §1066.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Draft OBD certification plans for model years with cross-functional teams.
• Create and compile OBD certification documents for CARB review.
• Support agency Q&A related to OBD certification.
• Review DDV results prior to agency submission.
• Coordinate and align cross-functional stakeholders to meet production plans.
