Job summary

Barber-Nichols is seeking an experienced CNC programmer to design and execute complex lathe, mill, and mill-turn work using Siemens NX CAM. You will deliver precise setups, run simulations, and ensure repeatable results across high‑performance turbomachinery components.

You will interpret GD&T and drawings, mentor teammates, and partner with engineering and quality to drive manufacturability improvements and on-time production readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in manufacturing technology; CNC programming cert preferred.
• 10+ years programming precision parts on lathes, mills and mill-turn with advanced CAM.
• Experience with tight tolerances and hard-to-machine materials (Inconel, titanium).
• AS9100/ISO9001 environment experience and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Program complex lathe, mill and mill-turn parts in Siemens NX CAM with clear setup/run instructions.
• Run full process verification and maintain CAM post processors and tooling libraries.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to select machining approaches and tooling.
• Lead production readiness reviews and mentor programmers and machinists.
• Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability, nonconformances, and design changes.
