Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to own Nutanix AHV/HCI operations for Windows Server workloads on-prem. You will lead offshore teams while coordinating with cross-functional groups to onboard workloads and ensure reliable service delivery.

The role requires strong AD, DNS, PKI, and certificate management skills, plus a solid background in storage/compute lifecycle and incident response. KC-area, on-site position with global collaboration.

Qualifications

5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with virtualization platforms; Nutanix preferred.
Hands-on Nutanix administration across clusters, storage, compute, lifecycle, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Nutanix Files, Nutanix Database Service, Windows Server, file services, NTFS/share permissions.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, trusts, replication, authentication, and troubleshooting.
Experience managing certificates, TLS, renewals, and incident response for expirations.
Excellent communication, documentation, and change-control discipline.

Responsibilities

Own Nutanix AHV/HCI operations: capacity, performance, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
Lead offshore engineers: set standards, review changes, guide escalations, mentor for service delivery.
Administer Nutanix Files and Database Service clusters; provisioning and health monitoring.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, and vendor teams to onboard workloads and document runbooks.
Support Active Directory, domain controllers, Sites & Services, Group Policy, trusts, replication, authentication.
Manage Microsoft DNS and Cloudflare DNS; handle PKI/certificate issuance, renewals, validation, remediation.
