Job summary

Cook County Health seeks an Associate Director of Nursing Services to administer and coordinate patient care under the Division of Nursing. The role leads the QA&I program, develops policies, and ensures staffing efficiency and regulatory compliance within the hospital. Responsibilities include budget management, disciplinary actions per union agreements, and collaboration with labor relations to address staffing and operational needs.

This exempt leadership role is based at John H. Stroger, Jr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; licensed RN in Illinois.
• 7 years of nursing experience; 5+ years in supervision/management.
• Experience and knowledge of Regulatory and Nursing Practice Standards.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Administers and coordinates patient care services; develops QA&I program.
• Manages the Division’s annual budget and reports to Nursing Administration.
• Hires, transfers, suspends, disciplines per Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Ensures staffing plans meet patient care needs across division units.
• Leads performance appraisals and staff development; ensures safe, high-quality care.
