Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System seeks a Nursing Clinical Staffing Manager at John H. Stroger Hospital to oversee the Nursing Staffing Office, scheduling, productivity, and staffing resources, ensuring safe, quality patient care.

This exempt role provides leadership across units, develops staffing plans, collaborates with Nursing Leadership and Labor Relations, and drives cost-effective staffing initiatives while monitoring workforce metrics.

Qualifications

• RN license required or ability to obtain Illinois license within two weeks of starting employment
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing or related field from an accredited college or university
• Five (5) years of Nursing experience required
• Two (2) years of Nursing administrative experience in staffing operations, nursing productivity, project management and/or informatics required
• Two (2) years of nursing experience as a charge nurse, supervisor and/or manager required
• Two (2) years of experience utilizing nursing technology systems to enhance operations required

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Nursing Staffing Office day-to-day operations
• Provide clinical and operational direction for nurse scheduling and staffing resources
• Develop and implement staffing policies, procedures and processes
• Monitor staffing metrics and nursing productivity to optimize costs
• Collaborate with Nursing Leadership and Labor Relations on staffing initiatives and contracts
• Participate in committees contributing to quality patient care
