Job summary

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking a seasoned Scheduler to join our team in Cheektowaga, NY. The role requires at least two years of related experience in a high-volume healthcare scheduling setting.

The Scheduling Specialist will generate, manage, and update master nursing schedules, adjusting for budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, and staff leaves. Onsite position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum of six years in a high-paced staffing/scheduling or operations role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Prior experience with scheduling platforms, especially Kronos.
• Must read/write/speak English at an intermediate or higher level.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the point person for all scheduling staff matters.
• Maintains and uses the master staffing schedule extensively.
• Uses multiple staffing tools and aligns staffing to census expectations.
• Troubleshoots scheduling issues with minimal supervision.
• Understands and applies the PPD staffing metric for staffing decisions.
• Keeps DON/ADON informed for staffing coordination.
• Ensures nursing schedule accuracy in Kronos and related tracking.
• Prepares daily staffing sheets and revises as needed.
