Job summary

UVM Health - Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Director of Clinical Nursing Services (DCNS) to provide 24-hour clinical accountability for the nursing operations of a 153-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. The role reports to the VP Aging Services/Administrator and collaborates with the CNO to ensure aligned clinical practices.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont.
• Graduate of an approved professional nursing education program, Master’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing and related Master’s degree required.
• Consideration will be given to candidates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with commitment to complete Master’s program within five years in position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily clinical operational management and ensures documentation aligns with standards of care.
• Supervises nursing personnel and promotes teamwork across disciplines.
• Promotes high level of customer service and service quality for the team.
• Leads nursing administrator role with focus on evidence‑based practices.
• Manages the nursing services budget.
• Ensures regulatory requirements are met for high‑quality resident care.
