Job summary

The Arizona State Board of Nursing is seeking a NURSING INVESTIGATOR SENIOR to join the Compliance department in Phoenix. This role will oversee investigations related to substance use, mental health disorders, and practice concerns among licensed nurses, ensuring compliance with Board orders and the Nurse Practice Act.

The position involves reviewing reports, collecting evidence, and presenting findings to support board actions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal statutes, administrative codes, and agency policies
• Knowledge of nursing practice and the Nurse Practice Act
• Ability to write investigative reports

Responsibilities

• Review reporting and results to ensure compliance with board orders; communicate non-compliance and assist as needed
• Extract and analyze information from statutes and records; write detailed investigative reports
• Apply federal, state, and agency laws and policies to nursing practice and investigations
• Prepare subpoenas and interim orders; gather, preserve evidence and record case materials
• Prepare cases for review and present at board meetings; refer criminal offenses as appropriate
