Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Nurse V Assistant Chief Nurse Executive to oversee the nursing department at the State Hospital. You will manage staffing, ensure quality patient care, and coordinate with medical leadership for alignment with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily nursing care of residents and ensures overall quality of care.
• Manages staffing to maintain 24/7 nursing coverage and appropriate acuity levels.
• Directs nurse managers and supervises nursing staff, with hiring, training and evaluations.
• Develops and updates nursing policies to align with laws, rules and standards.
• Provides guidance and training to nursing staff, and assists with quality improvement efforts.
• Participates in disaster response, COOP activation, and other agency-wide duties.
