Job summary

gpac is hiring an Experienced Nursery and Greenhouse General Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise personnel, production planning, and sales support for growth and strong customer service.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of greenhouse, nursery, or garden center managerial experience, a related degree, and proven leadership. Willingness to travel/relocate and reside in the U.S. is required. Competitive pay and relocation assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' greenhouse, nursery, or garden center managerial experience.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related horticulture and /or business field.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of various federal or state Dept. of Agriculture.
• Ability to coach and train a sales team in building strong relationships with retail partners.
• Must reside in the U.S. and have a valid U.S. driving license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to travel and relocate.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily nursery and greenhouse operations, ensuring a clean organized and well-stocked sales area.
• Hire associates, production and greenhouse labor, sales teams and office support.
• Lead, train, and motivate sales associates to provide outstanding customer service.
• Receive, inspect, display, water, and maintain healthy, high-quality plant inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking with distribution teams.
• Ensure proper plant care, merchandising, pricing, and signage according to company standards.
• Maintain logs, labor reports, pesticide applications, plug grade sheets, disease logs and testing.
• Communicate regularly with district management regarding inventory needs, staffing and operational updates.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
