Gertens is seeking a hands-on Greenhouse Production Supervisor to oversee daily greenhouse production and lead staff to meet schedules and quality standards.

You will coordinate with Growers, train staff, and ensure safe, efficient operations while maintaining inventory and equipment. A strong background in greenhouse production and team leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of greenhouse production supervision or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age.
• Strong knowledge of greenhouse production and plant care.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Experience operating greenhouse equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily greenhouse production and work alongside production staff.
• Partner with Growers and Assistant Growers to execute production schedules.
• Train, coach, and support production staff on planting, transplanting, spacing, order fulfillment, and seasonal product assembly.
• Monitor production goals, staffing, and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate use of production materials, labeling, and greenhouse placement.
• Maintain inventory of production materials and communicate supply needs.
• Operate and train staff on greenhouse production equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with WPS.
• Lead daily production meetings and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Attend required company meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Greenhouse Production Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Production Supervisor to join our greenhouse team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily greenhouse production, leading production staff, and ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion of production schedules. The ideal candidate has greenhouse production experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for growing plants and developing teams.

Candidates must be able to work Monday-Friday from 8:00a-4:30a, including some weekends and extended hours during peak production seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily greenhouse production and work alongside production staff
• Partner with Growers and Assistant Growers to execute production schedules
• Train, coach, and support production staff on proper planting, transplanting, spacing, order fulfillment, and seasonal product assembly
• Monitor production goals, staffing, and quality standards
• Ensure accurate use of production materials, labeling, and greenhouse placement
• Maintain inventory of production materials and communicate supply needs
• Operate and train staff on greenhouse production equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with Worker Protection Standards (WPS)
• Lead daily production meetings and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
• Attend required company meetings and perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
