Job Purpose

The Senior Nurse/Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for providing the highest level of assessment, analysis, implementation, evaluation, education and support for our customers on healthcare systems provided and installed by LSC Companies. The Senior Nurse Informatics Specialist will be responsible for supporting the CAS/Informatics team members in preparing and implementing Projects and Customer Care Visits. In addition, they will have supervisory responsibilities for the CAS-HC and Informatics Specialist team members that report to them.

Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Facing
  • Establish & maintain relationships with clinicians and executive leaders at hospitals, health systems, and advocate for the use of technology provided by LSC Companies.
  • Partner with LSC departments and staff to translate clinical requirements into information needed to design, build, and deploy LSC systems
  • Review, identify, analyze and recommend design/changes to support the ease of use of applications and systems. The recommendations should be based on understanding from clinical leadership the problems or initiatives that they are trying to address.
  • Conduct trainings for healthcare professionals on the use of nurse call systems, infant abduction systems, management software, peripheral devices (wireless phones, pagers, RTLS, etc.) and any other systems associated with healthcare systems provided by LSC Companies
  • Assure documentation of end user system testing procedures and work with CAS and Support Technician to ensure proper system configuration per needs assessment.
  • Provide go-live support
  • Collaborate with customer clinical and IT leaders in evaluating the effectiveness of technologies and workflows of systems from LSC. Document findings and share with CCIO for possible improvement story.
  • Review system installation configuration and confirm facility layout before meeting with customers for Needs Assessments, CCVs or optimization initiatives.
  • Confirm training location, times, accommodations, equipment needs prior to execution of training.
  • Work closely with the CCIO, CAS, Service Lead, and Account Managers to assess customer needs and expectations of systems purchased from LSC Companies. Assist to create alignment where gaps are identified.
  • Provide clinical leadership to Sale in Responder Enterprise or Professional Services presentation as requested.
  • Lead standardization activities for R5 or RE at customer sites
  • Provide customer support by answering workflow and technical questions from Customers and referring calls to technical staff or Service when necessary
  • Train LSC Companies’ staff on such systems or processes when appropriate
Administrative
  • Documentation of facility needs assessments, programming guides, contacts, and systems and complete required documentation in Q360 for all customer intersections.
  • Provide customized system configuration needs to Support Technician
  • Documentation of Customer Care Visits, customer communications and training as needed and/or process improvement focus.
  • Schedule and plan CCV to improve the utilization of the after-the-sale Customer Services Agreement
  • Produce, duplicate, and assemble customized training materials after evaluation has been completed
  • Assure the delivery of e-learning modules in Articulate for each project.
  • Coordinate with Service to schedule Support Technician as needed for CRF or Project downloads.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours provided against hours allotted per project or contract
  • Maintain accurate databases and resource materials and stored in Q360 and in Healthcare SharePoint.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 with team members and performance evaluations.
  • Provide oversite of all administrative activities for office-based team.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Clinician in the State of Texas
  • Experience of hospital/and outpatient clinical workflow that will be aligned to LSC Technologies
  • Experience using and teaching processes improvement utilizing LEAN methods
  • Experience collecting appropriate information and documenting in current and future state workflow maps
  • Experience in the analysis of data sets, presentation of the data and recommendations to clinical leaders based on needed process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to operate applications, enter data, manipulate and process information
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and maintaining databases.
  • 5+ years of peer or customer training experience required
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing college or equivalent in a clinical field required.
  • 5+ year of healthcare experience required
  • Informatics Certification preferred
Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language utilizing excellent grammar
  • Strong, effective, confident written and verbal communication skills to perform group presentations, tactfully discuss issues, and listen to and understand complex information/situations
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, facilitate communication, and effectively document related activities
  • Detail oriented with a creative aptitude, technology-related curiosity and a positive attitude
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow up on pending issues
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing great customer service
  • Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Willingness to learn both in organized classroom environment and on your own by studying operation and maintenance manuals, Standards of Excellence and other digital content
  • Willingness to take college and other classes on non-company time to increase knowledge in specified areas
