Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Corrections seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide advanced skilled care and independent management of direct cares for incarcerated adults with complex health conditions. You will perform assessments, wound and medication management, and support ADLs, while coordinating care with the treatment team.

The role includes staffing support, educational programs for staff and patients, and acting as a consultant to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted RN license required in WI or another NLC state.
• Current BLS certification and AED training required.
• Ability to stand, sit, move, and lift up to 40 lbs; assist with ADLs.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced skilled nursing care and direct care to incarcerated adults with complex health needs.
• Perform advanced assessments, treatment, and medication management; assist physician.
• Develop, monitor, and coordinate treatment plans with the care team; discharge planning.
