Job summary

Glasgow Blood Donor Centre is seeking a confident, dynamic leader to head the Glasgow and the West Donor Collection teams within the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service. The post requires strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland checks and overseas criminal record checks where applicable.

The successful candidate will drive donor care excellence and ensure service continuity.

About The Organisation

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post

Are you looking for a pivotal leadership role in which you can lead teams to deliver excellence in Donor Care?

We are looking for a confident, dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking individual to lead the Glasgow and the West Donor Collection teams within the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service.

The Candidate

You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. You must be self-motivated, proactive with the ability to be flexible and react positively to on-going changing demands and priorities. Demonstrable evidence of ongoing professional development working within the competencies framework is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post will be based at Glasgow Blood Donor Centre, Atheneum.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
