Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company seeks a senior project estimator to forecast costs for nuclear implementation and maintenance projects in the U.S. You will analyze project drawings, specifications, and design documentation to determine expenses and schedules while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Analytical and mathematical skills to assess complex nuclear project requirements and costs.
  • Attention to detail when reviewing nuclear project documentation and cost calculations.
  • Collaborative with engineers, safety staff and regulators to refine estimates.
  • Familiarity with nuclear fundamentals, materials, equipment and construction methods.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Project Analysis: analyze drawings, specifications and design docs to define scope and requirements.
  • Accurate Cost Forecasting: forecast material, labor, equipment, fees and overhead costs.
  • Quality Documentation: document bases, assumptions and rationale for cost estimates.
  • Fleet Estimating: provide estimates for multiple nuclear facilities (PWR/BWR).
  • Cost Re-evaluation: re-evaluate estimates during Long Range Planning.
  • Vendor Interaction: obtain quotes and oversee accuracy of estimates.
