Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Project Cost Analyst Sr to coordinate project cost analysis across multiple projects and support PMs with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will input budgets in corporate systems, provide routine forecast updates, and collaborate to implement project management best practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 4 years' experience as a Project Cost Analyst (grade 006).
• With an Associate's degree, 6 years' qualified experience. With a Bachelor's degree, 4 years' qualified experience.
• Degrees must be in Accounting/Business/Construction Management/Engineering/Technology/PM.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project meetings with the team and PMs.
• Prepare and update project documentation and planning.
• Forecast project spending and cash flows; monitor budget variances.
• Support SOX activities and input to budgets and five-year plans.
• Perform variance reporting and baseline budget alignment with schedules.
• Create project breakdown structures and update project records.
• Assist in contracting and work order processes.
• Interface with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop KPIs for scope, budget, schedule, and cost performance.
• Provide training and guide junior cost analysts.
