Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Process Engineer for a nuclear project in Johnson City, Tennessee. The role covers full project lifecycle from conceptual design through commissioning, requiring expertise in complex process engineering and strong regulatory experience.

The candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, develop process calculations and specifications, and provide technical leadership across design phases while ensuring compliance with QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 20+ years of progressive Process Engineering experience.
• Experience with highly regulated/high-hazard operations.
• Experience developing/reviewing PHA’s, process calculations, equipment specs, system descriptions, and engineering docs.
• Strong understanding of design processes from concept to commissioning.
• Experience leading engineering activities and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in QA and configuration-controlled environments.
• Strong technical writing, communication, problem-solving, and client-interface skills.
• Ability to independently evaluate complex engineering problems and develop defensible solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities for nuclear facility design and modifications.
• Develop/review process calculations, design criteria, specs, and technical reports.
• Perform mass/energy balances, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, heat transfer, and fluid flow analyses.
• Develop process requirements/specifications for equipment and systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Perform design reviews ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client procedures.
• Support process safety, hazard analyses, and design basis development.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Resolve complex technical and field issues with defensible solutions.
• Support development of project scopes, estimates, schedules, and technical approaches.
