Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Austin, TX seeks a seasoned Nuclear Operations Training Manager to design and lead an accredited-style training program for all Aalo-X operations personnel. You will own the systematic approach to training, qualification standards, examinations, and instructor performance, reporting to the Senior VP, Nuclear Operations.

You will develop position-specific training content, manage simulator scenarios, and ensure compliance with DOE/NRC expectations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of nuclear operations, operator training, or licensed-operator experience.
• 5+ years leading or administering operator training programs in a commercial nuclear plant, DOE facility, or similar.
• NRC Senior Reactor Operator license or instructor qualification preferred.
• Systematic approach to training, qualification standards, exam development, and security.
• Experience developing control-room, simulator, and in-plant training for startup and abnormalities.
• Ability to translate design, safety-basis, procedures into training products.
• Experience supporting startup, commissioning, power ascension, or major program recovery preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; substantial applicable experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain training programs for Shift Managers, Senior Reactor Operators, operators, and support personnel.
• Develop position-specific qualification standards, objectives, exams, and on-the-job training guides.
• Establish examination security, grading standards, and remediation requirements.
• Define prerequisites and ensure personnel are trained and authorized before assignment.
• Integrate plant design, procedures, and operating experience into training content.
• Develop instructors and evaluators; set expectations for accuracy and coaching.
• Plan simulator capability, scenarios, and maintenance for startup, transients, and emergencies.
• Maintain auditable training records including attendance and evaluations.
• Measure training effectiveness and drive improvements via corrective actions.
• Provide readiness evidence during internal and external assessments and oversight.
